Lake Como has that whole is-this-real-life vibe. Cypresses and villas, linen tablecloths blowing in the breeze, old men in pressed button-downs riding bikes with baskets. It’s only right to match the soft-living, laid-back Euro vibe once you’re there. It’s a bit intoxicating (in the best way) and calls for a thoroughly planned suitcase.

Lake Como Packing List: Summer 2025
This Lake Como packing list leans dreamy and functional – think of it as your Lake Como capsule that can do more than just sit and sip Spritz’s (say that five times fast). I made this for lightish packing (as ferries are your main mode of transport, walking is in abundance and taxis are hard to come by) but every piece had a purpose.

The vibe is relaxed elegance + nothing too flashy. Locals look effortless (of course), like they just threw on a linen dress and went sailing (they did). I wanted outfits that could do a quick pivot: from ferry rides to aperitivo, from wandering garden paths to sitting down at a white-tablecloth lunch spot without feeling underdressed or out of place. Because we can’t have that.
1. A Neutral Midi Dress
A neutral, somewhat conservative midi feels appropriate everywhere: the beach, out for lunch, city exploring, dinner on the water, etc.
2. A Lightweight Jacket
Pick one that’s also pretty (obviously). Plane AC & Como breezes; solved.
3. A Pretty Scrunchie
For necessary ponytails (like while running through airport security and trying to catch the ferry) that end up looking way cuter than intentioned.
4. Sunnies (That Aren’t Too Expensive)
For sun, for drama. Pack a pair that you won’t be bummed got lost/scratched/broken. These insanely cool ones are freaking $50, so.
5. Comfortable Sneakers
Easy airport shoe, perfect for cobblestones. I’m drooling over this new shape + “collegiate green” color.
6. (Buttery) Leather Slides
Beek are sleek but SO effing comfy. Just avoid anything with a heel – you’ll regret it.
7. Shimmery Body Oil
To fancy up & (maaaaybe more importantly) soothe sun-kissed skin.
8. A Necklace To Wear With It All
Those little beads give major vacation vibes and constant wearability.
9. A Linen-Blend Mini Dress
For a mini dress, choose one that’s colorful, printed and/or fun. This is all three, IMHO.
10. A Leather Pouch
For transporting makeup/tech/toiletries & using as a clutch for nights out. (Peep the last model pic for proof that it works.)
11. Fisherman Sandals
Cute enough for photos, sturdy enough for ferry stairs.
12. Chic Shorts
Skip denim and go for a tailored style (with a belt!).
13. A Dainty Earring
Something unique with vintage vibes = yes.
14. A Basic Tee
This one is ecru (not white) with a lovely brushed cotton texture. Looks fancy for a tee.
15. A Tote
Loving Clare V.’s latest iteration of the Sandy tote. Use for snacks, a paperback, and impromptu cheese (bonus points for throwing on a charm or two).
16. + A Bag Charm
(bonus points for throwing on a charm or two)
17. Chunky Earrings
Cute and UNDER $10.
18 & 19. A Matching Set
Often really comfy & can be worn as separates later…
20. A Light Sweater
Because evenings can dip below 65°F (and you can ball it up as a plane pillow hehe).
21. A One-Piece Swimsuit
Stunning enough to dive into the Med AND pair with shorts as a top.
Como makes you want to live softer. Everything slows down: the espresso, the breeze, the walks along the water. You don’t need much to feel beautiful there. A few great pieces, a good book, and space in your suitcase for olive oil on the way home. Aaaaand done.
